Today was an extra special Pregnancy Session as it also included a soon-to-be-Big Sister. How beautiful that she will remember every part of her Mum’s pregnancy and be able to participate in her new little sister’s life like no other. A bond that will be unbreakable.

I wasn’t expecting them to turn out so well as I’m very un-photogenic and only ever look okay with a hat & sunglasses J

I love pregnancy sessions for 2 main reasons. Firstly, I love the mystery within. I love the surprise and wondering about what will be. When will this new life emerge? Will it be a boy or a girl? How big will they be and who will they look like. Secondly, I love pregnancy sessions because they record such a precious moment in a woman’s life. A fleeting time that will pass before we know it.

Some women arrive excited, confident and ready to embrace and celebrate their new shape. Others arrive with much more hesitation, a somewhat negative mental picture of their body. I love it that the images I create have the power to shift that thinking. You don’t need to feel fabulous to look fabulous in your pregnancy session, but after, I hope you leave feeling just as fabulous as I see you.

Learn! – Camera and Photography course

Well I must admit I have neglected the blog of late as I have been super busy behind the scenes. Amongst other things, the first ‘Learn’ course has come to an end with the final part being held on Saturday. This was a short course I held for people that have bought a camera with manual functions but are lost with how to use them or get the results they want.

I had a fabulous response to the course and it was sold out in under 2 weeks. I received great feedback through-out the course too via anonymous surveys and each person as they all had their light bulb moments when it suddenly all made sense for them. I loved the chorus of ‘ah ha!’ coming from the group especially as I revealed my HOT TIPS!

What I was hearing from people over and over was that they had been over some of these areas themselves, some having even studied photography before, but now, for the first time it had been explained in a way that made sense. Now they are all asking ‘when is the next one and when are you doing one on photoshop?’ so we shall see what we can do about that

Happy Mother’s Day – Adelaide Family Photographer

Happy Mothers Day folks – a special little shout out to all the Mothers’s around the world, the Mothers with children who are far from little babies anymore, the Mother’s who have lost their little ones far too soon, the Mother’s that were Mothers for only a pregnancy, the Mother’s with their children far and wide and all the Mother’s celebrating Mother’s day for the very first time.

Although today, my day was not unlike any other, starting with breakfast for my family, mountains of washing, doing dishes, fresh sheets on the beds etc etc…. I was thankful for every moment that I could spend with my little ones. Watch them be, give them the Mummy cuddles just when they need them and provide them with everything they need from me. I am thankful that today is not the only day I get to share this with them…. I am thankful for every day filled with every day things as they are just as special.

My heart was also warmed with the lovely thank you messages that came through from the 5 Mum’s that collected their print orders on Saturday and found a little personalised card I had made for them from their little bundles of love. You see, each and every one of the kiddies had a little chat with me during our time together and thought it would be a nice idea for their Mum’s. How thoughtful are they! (even though most of them were not even 1 yet ha ha)

There is something simply beautiful about this family, the way they are together, the way they connect with each other. I love it that although we were just around the corner from their home, they look like they could be anywhere in the world. A truly timeless series.
